Hey. I’m starting this page as a living document of Bru & Boegie lore for anyone interested. It’ll likely evolve and develop into something substantial. Though I have a private expansive document I work with, I’m not yet ready to share that more widely, so will start with some core characters.
World
Bru & Boegie live in their house in KiffTown, which is a small weird fictional town set in South Africa, a town shared with many other weird characters.
Bru Jones
Bru is arguably the hero of Bru & Boegie. He’s stoic, over-confident and dumb – a dangerous combination. Knows what he is and never changes. Only ever wears underpants because it was the second thing he could think of when deciding his life’s mission. Is bald because of too much / too little testosterone.
Lives: Bru & Boegie’s house
Job: Works at AFRICANIMATION as an animator, doesn’t like it and often gets fired, always trying to crack it with his own IP so he can ‘do his own thing’.
Fav sayings: “Kiff.” “Hectic.” “Bleak.” “Let’s go Yuckamo.” “What’s the wifi password?”
Likes: Chillin’, usurping authority, UFOs, conspiracies, marching to the beat of his own drum, Beatboxing Dave.
Dislikes: meetings, buzzwords.
Factoid: Red-green colourblind.
Fav movie: Ratatoing (convinced it’s the best movie ever made)
Boegie
Boegie is Bru’s reluctant best friend. He’s sensitive, a skeptic, and very smart and hence usually depressed. Boegie admires Bru’s confidence (it’s why he also wears only undies) but is concerned for Bru’s dumbness. Like Bru, Boegie only wears underpants, a pact that binds them both together.

Job: Also works at AFRICANIMATION as an animator, very talented and quiet, gets the work done.
Fav saying: “Uhh…”
Likes: A quiet night at home, meditation, candles, Beatboxing Dave.
Dislikes: Loud people, conflict, Bru’s dumb ideas.

Doggie Poggie
Doggie Poggie or DP is Bru & Boegie’s pet dog. He’s an albino Basenji or albino Pharaoh Hound. DP loves dancing and loves musical beats, often plays drums with bones on his food bowl or can be found bopping his head to a beat in his head. He’s an incredibly wise and deeply mysterious dog of mystery, sometimes goes off on his own wild adventures. He’s mute. Playful. He’s in love with Pregnant Cat and forever trying to woo her, with little luck.

Dislikes: Albino Squirrel (possibly related?), Breadhead?
Pregnant Cat
Pregnant Cat or PC is Bru & Boegie’s pet cat. She is completely unhinged and her mind and character is unfathomable, often writhing around with limbs akimbo and meowing loudly. She’s somehow always pregnant, hence her name. Not at all interested in or even aware of DP’s smooth advances.
